My bro is a very clever lad..... He figured out the magic formula to ensure
that I fulfill his papercraft request-----and that is to get me hopelessly hooked on the series.
I made a deal with him though. I show him how to wield Pepakura, which is sorta easy but VERY time consuming, and he does half the work. There are about 12,600 faces to this model. For perspective, my high-resolution Master Keeper papercraft
had just over 6,000 faces. So, each arm should theoretically take about two weeks to build if you're diligent.
My yet-untried idea is to build these arms out of newsprint
paper, or at least the sections that are supposed to flex, and then brush on several layers of liquid latex. Rigid sections like the plates of the forearm, I would brush on fiberglass resin instead, in the usual manner.
I has already built one half of the sunglasses.
It took three hours.
Now to go build ze other...... DONE!!!
