Description

Dude, y no1 has done this model yet, I shall not know. But in order to do it myself, I had to learn a whole, blasted $#^@&^%&$#%#@$%%$^@%%&%%$$#@#@$%^!$$#^*$#$#$#%~ing LOT!

Technically, I've been looking for a SOLDIER Helm papercraft since last September. (Preferably with its pattern riped from the game, because this is one of those helmets that's hard to not totally screw up if one constructs it from scratch.) :|

THIS PATTERN IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. It is meant to be for making thin-cardbored bases for papermacheing on top of, because I am not versed enough to create a real working high quality Pepakura printable. For instance, this test model has no glue tabs whatsoever, and the sides of the shield-like visor came out in a million little double-sided pieces... Add to that the fact it's still slightly too small for a human head, AND the fact that there is unseen geometry on the inside which I'll have to mod myself with a pencil in order to make this actually work for cosplay.... Now that I'm done pointing out all of this first-crack assemblage's shortcomings, I must add that I couldn't be more proud of myself so far. It may not look like much, but I had to learn some S~E~R~I~O~U~S nerd stuff in order to even get this far.

And a huge thanks must go out to Kaizo for his old yet insightful tutorial, without which I'd still be holding rulers to enlarged 2D screenshots for projects like this. :noes:

To be honest, the two reasons I decided to cosplay a SOLDIER were because, first of all, of these awesome guys. :excited:

Secondly, because last September---when I first learned the existence of papercrafting from ripped game models---I blithely stumbled across a life-sized papercraft model of the sword that SOLDIERs carry. :D

I intend, also, (well, at least in the long run) to create a pattern in this manner for the appropriate shoulder armor. :)

...And maybe for the boots, too, because I'm principally against buying any part of a cosplay, and I just really want to learn how to make my own shoes. :P

After all..... :D
