EDIT 12/27/13 8:54am: WOOHOO!!! I finish't something! Well, actually, I may tweak the contrast in the future, 'cause right now I' been staring at it too long to be able to tell if it's balanced or if that is singularly the most luminous candle ever....
I might also blur the rain a bit more, but after 20+ hours, I'm fresh out of care for now.
EDIT 12/24/13 5:06am: I've made much progress coloring it and have uploaded the work-in-progress. It still needs shading and more, obviously, but I'm already pleased with it.
My boarder collie is delighting in bossing me around at this wee hour, slowing me down even more. Ugh, morning dogs...
Concept art for the 5-6 minute special effects test film in which I play a character much like Icarus. I'm sort of counting on my super long hair to make myself into a convincing fantasy character, because I'm working on that figure without any real hope, and don't even know yet if I can act.
Checklist of items I need to create this scene IRL:
Engineer's desk of unknown age and origin, acquired secondhand by my grandma in the early 1980s
Borrow fancy tall-back chair. X
Genuine goose feather quill, from a museum gift shop
Dip-pen ink bottle
Practice my nice handwriting X
Finish my steampunk wing design and polish off a theatrical blueprint X
My great grandmother's leftover watercolor paper that's been yellowing for longer than I've been alive
Long flowing gown ....but I want to make a different one...
Tower-dungeon with a Persian rug Converted never-used family Dining Room into a home-made library office
Gas lamp Old fashioned bronze candle lantern and five additional brass candle holders
Pile of suitable candles
Might also be able to borrow my great grandfather's Lampe Pigeon from my grandma!
Wow.... Maybe I should get to work story-boarding the camera angles already! IMPO, that's one of the final steps in the Pre-Production phase. On the other hand, there are actually two characters; I'm playing them both, and the one not pictured still needs work on his costume design. ASDF
