I GOTS MY FIRST ART TABLET YESTERDAY!!!!!

This is the first work I've done with it, and I'm afraid this piece has exposed something about my subconscious-----that I've watched "The Ghost & Mrs. Muir" far too many freaking times. I love that movie.

At present, there is no plan to have a scene in my fanfiction "Heart of the Realm" in which Ansem wears the uniform of a sea captain, however as a young boy he does meet Captain Nemo. (Another movie I watch way too often.)

The background is an original location I made up for within the world of Hollow Bastion. When you play the first Kingdom Hearts, you can see an extensive mountain range from the terraces of Ansem's castle. I imagine that there is a forest beyond that, and an ocean, and along the shoreline is a storybook-perfect port village, which I named Haruka Town. (In Japanese, "haruka" means "long ago" and/or "far away" with a wishful or nostalgic connotation. "Haruka haruka" is Japan's cultural equivalent of "Once upon a time".) On the outskirts of the town, hidden by the forest, the royal family had a private retreat home....... It sat abandoned after Ansem's fall from sanity a decade before Sora defeated him. Then, upon returning to it after his defeat, Ansem found it had been overtaken and somewhat demolished by the old wisteria tree in the garden.

Without more detail, I suppose it's hard to tell what you're looking at; since Hollow Bastion canonically has such an unusual color scheme (perpetually orange sky, blue earth....) I decided, 'why not go the whole nine and make the ocean purple?'


As soon as I finish ironing out my storyboard, I'll be able to write this story fairly quickly. It's just that I need ALL my ideas down blow-by-blow in chronological order first. Creatively, I'm rigid like that; trying to 'free myself' and 'just let the story flow' invariably produces garbage that makes me hate myself for writing it.
