Ultimate Convertible Hutch of Sewing

Sooo.... After watching Del Toro's "The Wolfman" three times in one week, I finally decided that, yes, I was ready to commit to learning the fine craft of carpentry. (The Neovictorian-steampunker in me can't get enough of the costumes and scenery in that movie!) So, I randomly bought a pile of cheap 2x6 boards without any sort of plan. Then, about two weeks later ruined my favorite set of clothes with a flying can of paint. Which, naturally, gave me the idea to build a new, luxury desk for my sewing machine. (...My muse ties me in knots...)

It definitely has a loooong ways to go until it's finished-----I plan on giving it a pseudo-Victorian facade, dark polish, and decorative brass fittings, aside from doubling the table length in back and adding collapsible legs------but after two and a half weeks and multiple trips back to the store to get even more wood, I need a break. And new clothes RATHER IMMEDIATELY. (I've had it up to my eyeballs with modern, manufactured clothing!!)

Eventually, I also want to write a short story about a Victorian carpenter (who does something stupid with alchemy), so I made this hutch completely without power tools. 60ft of board + 96 2-1/2" screws hand-sawed and hand-torqued-----I feel pretty proud of myself. Especially since this is my very first from-scratch furniture project EVER.
